Long Phu 1 Thermal power factory is a coal-burning power factory under the control of Long Phu Electricity Center. The capacity scale is approved by Ministry of Industry and Trade up to 4,400MW, including 03 Projects of coal-burning power factories (Long Phu 1 Thermal power factory with 1,200MW; Long Phu 2 Thermal power factory with 1,200MW; Long Phu 3 Thermal power factory with 2,000MW) and other auxiliary technical infrastructure construction synchronized-built.

Long Phu 1 Thermal power factory with the capacity of 2 x 600MW is designed in block of 02 power stations and synchronous systems such as System of supply, treatment, storage of coal fuel, fuel, limestone, gypsum, System of water treatment, ash disposal, desulphurization, System of self-capacitance devices… up to modern standards with high efficiency, ensuring emission conditions as latest Vietnamese and international standards requested, being environmentally friendly. Boilers and steam turbines used in Long Phu 1 Thermal power factory are classified as an advanced supercritical parameter technology in the world now, and operated with the coal planned-imported from Indonesia and Australia.

Project is under the general investment of Vietnam Petro, the general contractor of EPC, venture of Power Machines and PTSC.

About progress: This is one of main national projects in Electricity Plan 7 approved by Prime Minister. As plan, Power station 1 of the factory will be put in commercial operation in 2008 and Power station 2 in 2019.

Responsibilities of BDCC: the whole foundation area of Power island – Power station 1 and common area including boiler/turbine foundation, ESP dust collector area, FGD area’s foundation , Central control house, ESP control house, ash disposal control house, coal conveyor… the entire value of the contract after adjustment is expected up to VND250,000,000,000.

Right after the command of starting work, BDCC carries out building boiler’s foundation of Power station 1. The main capacity consists of 11,000 m3 and 1,200 ton of various kinds of steel
